The UOG Alumni Association, the School of Education (SOE) and the UOG Endowment Foundation hosted a wine tasting event on July 9, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Meskla restaurant in Hagatna. Speakers disscussed about reaching out to UOG Alumni to assist with the university's fundraising efforts. I attended the event which to my surprise not many Alumni were present to support their Alma Matar. Also, I got a chance to meet more of the UOG faculty and the barley present Alumni. I met Dr. Jeff Barcinas (former UOG vice president), Helen Whippy (UOG academic vice president), Frank Blas (former Lt. Governor), David Okada (UOG staff), and of course Dr. Rivera (who we all know) at the event. As a closing note we, UOG Alumni and current students, should support our university in its fundraising efforts because we all will benefit from the results.
